Emma's Firsts

Last Sunday we took Emma for her first hike. She loved it. We managed to tire her out enough to get a few good pictures, too.

Amit also played catch with her for the first time. She'd run and get the ball and then throw it around and chase it all by herself. She was quite funny to watch.

Apparently holding up the ball is the best way to get her to stand still enough for a good picture. Here she is!

And baby makes three!

Ha! I knew that would get your attention! We are now the proud parents of a beautiful four-legged baby girl. We adopted Emma, a 9 month old yellow lab mix, and picked her up this morning! She's fabulous. She was hyper when she got off the trailer, but settled down quickly. She will definitely make a great running partner, if we can get her to stop sniffing everything. (Her mix? Her foster mom thinks part hound. Definitely explains the sniffing.)

Ready for all the pictures? Here we go -

Our first picture of Emma.
Super excited to explore!
 Running to Mom
Emma loves getting her belly rubbed.
Excited to head to her new home.
Exhausted from all the excitement
She was running all over today any time she wasn't sleeping. Hopefully I'll get some even better pictures tomorrow when we go for a hike. She seems to be fitting in just fine; she knows our house and goes right to the back door. She even brought all her toys into her crate, which was hilarious! She'd bring one in, play with it, look up and see us and come running. Too cute! She's still exhausted - she's laying next to me on the couch right now! Enough gushing about the new dog, you'll have many more posts to read in the near future!

Weekend Visitors

Dad and Dylan came out for a quick visit this past weekend. Thank goodness they did, we (at least I was for sure) were in desperate need of some family time. It didn't hurt that they brought us pumpkin pie, fudge, and apple cider donuts from Goebberts!!

They got in late Friday night, so after a quick tour of the apartment we headed to bed. We had to come up with a new New England experience, so we spent Saturday in the White Mountains enjoying the fall foliage. My camera is acting funky, so I didn't take any pictures. (Shocking, I know.) Dad took some video with his iPhone, so I'll let you enjoy the footage that he shot (and spare you the unending blog full of pictures).

We came back to Boston in time to enjoy a delicious dinner in the North End and some yummy desserts. We were pretty chill on Sunday. We took them to our favorite Indian buffet, which is the fanciest and the tastiest Indian buffet we've been to, and walked around the mall to please Dylan before we dropped them off at the airport.

We had a lot of fun and were so sad that it was such a short visit. Eating our donuts in the morning does help to ease our pain, a little. Hopefully time will fly by and our trip back home for Christmas will come quickly.

Thanks again for being our Columbus Day visitors, Dad and Dylan!!
