Grillin' King (and Queen)

Have we mentioned how much we love to grill? We are out there at least 3 times a week making dinner (and dessert, too!!).

I bought Amit a great grill book for his birthday this year and we've been using it to find some great inspiration...

Fantastic grilled peaches with brown sugar!!
Yum!
We love hanging outside, waiting for our food to cook. It's a great opportunity to chat about how our days were. Don't forget - you can have this delicious home cooking if you come visit!!

Home Sweet Home

Well, it's our home for the next two years! After being here for 3 weeks, we are finally settled in! After a weekend spent running errands and building bookcases, we're exhausted. So here's my photo tour for you to enjoy:
View of the kitchen from the living room.
The living room.

Our stuff looks great on our handmade bookcase!
Our bedroom
So there's a brief tour of our new home in Needham. If you want to see the whole thing, I might just make you come out to visit!

It's like pulling teeth...

Yep, I think its harder to get Amit to post an update here than to pull teeth. And guess what? He would know!! Yeah, that's right. He's actually pulled teeth!!

Amit's officially a third year. Actually, he has been for several weeks, the whole moving thing put a crimp in my blogging style. With third year comes clinic time. He has about 10 patients so far and has several appointments scheduled. He was actually on his oral surgery rotation this past week, so he was able to pull teeth before ever seeing any of his own patients.

And since Amit can now see patients in the clinic, it should only be a few short weeks until I get to visit him!! I'm pretty excited to get my teeth cleaned by my husband, but way more excited to have my camera out to document all that fun!

Sorry for the short, picture-less update, but the big dental news needed to be shared!

PS - We'll be posting a tour of the new apartment soon!

Weekend Getaway Continued

So after our fun night of mini-golf, which we followed up with some ice cream, we headed to bed and woke up to this gorgeous view.
Technically it was there every morning,
but I only took the picture on Sunday.  ;-)
Remember that delicious lunch I told you about?
Well, apparently the pulled pork was delicious on a waffle for breakfast.
Our destination on Sunday was the Flume Gorge. Amit and I had never been there, so we were interested to see what it would be like. Surprisingly, there was a good amount of water for being the middle of August.
We had to take a little hike to get to the Flume Gorge...
The boys found this tree and were excited to pose!
We also had to walk over a covered bridge,
such a gorgeous picture!
It was a nice hike to the gorge...
The water was flowing...
There are still some boulders wedged between the rocks, too.
Couple shots!
I love my waterfalls!
On our hike back to the visitor's center,
we crossed another covered bridge with some great views!
Our last stop on the trip was at a little store to pick up some cheese and crackers to enjoy a picnic lunch. We found a fantastic spot to eat with an awesome view!!
We had a great time last weekend and definitely needed that getaway. We were glad Seth and Kirsten could come and hang out with us. We'll definitely be heading back up to the Flume Gorge in the spring, when the waters are (hopefully) roaring!

Weekend Getaway

Thank goodness for friends, buywithme.com, and road trips. Amit got a great deal on a hotel in Lincoln, NH, so we headed up to the mountains last weekend. We invited Seth and Kirsten to come along, so we were in for a relaxing weekend with no real plans...

Saturday morning we headed out to find something to do. We saw an ad for horseback riding and a zip line, so off we went in search of fun. Turns out those were way more than we were willing to spend. Our alternative? A gondola ride up Loon Mountain!! It was a first for us girls, so we were pretty excited.
The view from our gondola.
 Looking out over the mountains...
Of course the boys had to find specific peaks.
All smiles!
So the stuff to do on top of the mountain was very kid-oriented. Want to know what that meant for us? We were left holding the backpacks, while the boys went and played like little kids. It was actually really cute. They have a nice little path that you can take and choose to either walk past these little caves or go through them. Guess which of us chose what.
Amit was super excited to go exploring!
Seth, are you stuck?
Where do we go ?
Looks like a tight fit!!
We had to stop and take a picture here!
Look at that view!
Of course we had to take a picture in the gondola on the way down, too.
After all that crawling, the boys were hungry.
Check out that onion blossom!!
On Saturday night, after napping and doing a little sightseeing, we headed to do some mini-golf!
Waiting for the slowest mini-golfers ever...
What do we do when we're bored?? Take pictures!
It was a hobo-themed course... And had funny signs like this one.
Wonder if anyone would get it if we put it on our fence...

Yikes, this is a pretty long post. Guess we'll be going to part 2...
