Beads, Beads, and More Beads

So procrastination should really be my middle name. I excel at it. I'm busy working on my papers to wrap up my June class, but I had to take a break to do a little retail therapy... which subsequently lead to beading therapy.

Amit loves to follow Groupon. He usually finds fun excursions or restaurants through the site, but after our last jewelry day I think he picked up on how much I love making jewelry. A couple months ago he sent me a text before work, asking me if I saw the bead store Groupon. I laughed at him, since he usually doesn't encourage my crazy new habits, but looked at it and got super excited. Surprisingly, my crazy, sweetheart of a husband bought me the Groupon! On Saturday, Angela and I went to go buy some new beads at Beadles.
Bead overload!
I seriously had no idea what I was going to end up getting. There were so many beads!! We finally figured it out after spending an hour and a half in the store. I got some great stuff and can't wait to make my fancy new necklace! Here are some of my other purchases and new creations (like I said, I procrastinate).
Mystery bag contents - Great deal on the beads, even though you don't know what you're going to get.
 A $5 vintage necklace - gorgeous!
Best part? I didn't have to string the beads myself!
A couple of my new creations
I still have lots of beads leftover...
Now just to finish my paper so I can figure out what to make!
Beading is seriously my new obsession. It's so much fun! Thank goodness there is a Beadles store in Rockport! It is going to be so much easier to get Amit to go with me now. ;-)  On another note, Ron's into beading too and is going to teach me how to make fancier earrings this weekend when we go back home. I can't wait!!!

Two years already?

Our second anniversary came so quickly! The trip to Florida was a great present to ourselves, but we went out to dinner to celebrate our anniversary a few days later. We ate at Petit Robert Bistro in downtown Needham. We even tried escargot, it was delicious and the only picture I took of our food.
So "Happy Anniversary" to us! I still can't believe we've been married for two years already! By this time next year I'll be married to a DMD. Awesome!

Florida Getaway

I have to say I'm rather impressed that I'm blogging about our trip only a week after going. I must be back on top of my game! Anyways, now to stay focused...

We've been missing our Schaumburg group a lot lately and we've been in dire need of a vacation. So we figured, why not combine the two and go to Pensacola? Ray flew down from Chicago. Jeremy and Maggie (and Walt, too) were awesome hosts! It was great to relax on the beach with some great friends. We flew in on Thursday morning and after a delicious BBQ lunch we headed to the beach. It was overcast, but warm!!

Pensacola Beach
Dinner at Flounder's

 Baked oysters... Yum!!
The boys posed for a group shot in front of the boat.
Friday was rainy, but by the time we went out to dinner, it had cleared up. Since we couldn't skip the beach, we headed out to go enjoy the moonlight and the sound of crashing waves. It was a beautiful night and we were serenaded by three boys who ended up singing whatever songs popped into their heads.
A very happy boy
 Thank goodness for technology -
After seeing other people searching for crab,
Ray took out his iPhone and used the flashlight app to search.
 Smile!
One of my favorite pictures of the guys.
This one is frame-worthy!
Saturday was our last day in Pensacola and was by far the sunniest and warmest!! After sleeping in, we headed to the beach!!
Throwing the football around
Someone had a little too much fun in the sun!
We did some grilling at their place for a final dinner. It was delicious! The boys did a great job with the grill.

It was a great trip. We were sorry it had to go by so quickly. We're definitely going to be taking trips down to Florida more often!! Hope Jeremy and Maggie are ready for us!
